A friend of mine has family out in park city that bought him an Epic pass for when he visited a couple times. I was headed out for a ski trip over spring break and he let me use it. Never had an issue. It has a picture on it, but you're always wearing goggles and a helmet. Plus the lift people don't really care as long as it's a valid pass.

The buddy passes are basically a scam. It's a fake "perk" Vail can say pass holders get. The buddy price is the same or like $5 less than buying a lift ticket online. .... And the pass holder needs to be present to pickup the ticket. Enjoy sitting in Vails "epic" hour long line to pick up the pass.
