They're going to have to refuel in a star that Destiny would never choose: A blue supergiant, a star so hot, the crew can't survive if they stay onboard. Most of the crew will evacuate to a planet within dialing range while Eli and Rush, wearing the space suits for protection, stay onboard to manually override Destiny 's impulse not to fly into

The crew suspects that Command ships will await them at every red dwarf star that Destiny normally uses for energy, creating a blockade. Eli proposes using a blue supergiant to recharge instead; Destiny would be able tolerate the higher temperatures though the interior of the ship would become impossible to live in. Instead, leaving a few

What they found instead based on Destiny's data are the traces of a message from the very beginning of the universe itself. Destiny is essentially following the trace of this message. Destiny will reach the end of its mission as the crew realizes that they have reached the very center of our universe, the starting point for the big bang.

This unnamed star was a Blue giant in an unnamed galaxy. When the berzerker drones blockaded all the viable stars Destiny uses to recharge, the crew used a blue supergiant as a substitute. As the intense radiation of the massive star could not be fully diffused by Destiny's shields, Dr. Nicholas Rush and Eli Wallace stayed on board to pilot the ship in Ancient environmental suits to manually

Top horizon text: docked seed ship top view. Blue text at bottom: a minimum of 2000 years before launching the destiny, the ancients sent out several of these ships to make a path for the destiny across the universe. Their mission was to search for suitable planets, plant stargates on them, then transmit that information back to the destiny.

2.The Ship. Destiny is a ship built 50 milions years ago on Earth by The Ancients. It was launched unmanned. It's main objective was to collect information about a mysterious pattern found in the Cosmic microwave background radiation. From that moment, the ship has traveled an unimaginable distance.

Depends. Destiny's interiors were in way too good shape for a ship that traveled for tens of millions of years, so I guess that when there is no awake crew member on board it doesn't bother compensating for relativistic effects and far less time elapses inside. 18. Reply.

But Destiny is not a warship. Saying Destiny can beat a Goa'uld mothership because Destiny is suposidly more high-tech (not a given considering Destiny's shuttle appears to use rocket propoltion) is like saying a 21st century oceanographic vessel can outgun a 19th century ironclad.I am going to go with a ship that was built for war in this case, not a survey ship.

Maybe it wasnt less for charging Destiny and more a way to dump large amounts of power into the gate to establish the connection? But that would posit a ludicrous number of ZPM sockets for the device, which would mean the thing would sit right near a place that can produce such ZPMs in large amounts, and given Anubis didnt have ZPMs I doubt that was around.

This suggests that many blue supergiant stars owe their status to a stellar merger, and the merger model is a valuable tool to understand blue supergiant populations throughout the universe.
