Did the cheep mods on the new (used) Ridgerock. Tummy tuck. Pen spring mod on shocks with shock keys. 12mm wheel hex extenders. relocated ESC to upper front of battery tray. Yellow body mounted up (it hinges from the rear). All that's left is extending the motor/servo wires and fabbing up some tube high clearance links.

You don't need a special ESC. Wire the motors in parallel and get an ESC that can handle that current draw. I'm guessing a WP1080 should do fine, like it does for all brushed crawlers. A Y-harness on the throttle channel to control 2 ESCs at the same time also works. Just snip the red wire to one ESC.

Got bored with the stock Danchee, so I made a couple changes Swapped the body for a Hot Racing AX-10 body, changed out the servos for 25KG, the motors for Dynamite 37t's, dual 1080 escand 3d printed scx10ii skids for battery and esc receiver tray.

Cons- mostly all plastic parts and gears, weak motors, weak servos. Aftermarket support is sparse compared to axial/traxxas/element. All and all it's a good purchase for a first timer. But if you end up balls deep into the hobby you'll more than likely want something better quality. 6.

From the reviews I've seen, everyone seems to love the ridgerock, if you can get over the cheapness feeling. Hard to complain about it when the truck is between $110 and $135 RTR with a battery and "charger" though, depending on vendor.
