See, a lot is going on in Chapter 3 so let me explain some things. Huggy Wuggy could've survived. Its still unclear. Catnap is presumed dead. Nobody gets burnt alive and stabbed and survives. Regarding catnap, we are currently getting bombed with how evil he is and his malice is a conscious thing. Same as with mommy who killed bunzo. He saw his god had come to him, and since he likely doesn't see him verb much (hence the shrine) he realized his time was up so he sacrificed himself to be with his god.
