For anyone really stuck you can force resolutions and fullscreen (I think this works) with launch options in CS GO properties: -w 1920. -h 1080. -fullscreen. And you can also set stretched 4:3 this way, but this isn't a pleasing solution and seems a lot of people are impacted.

Native feels like HD stretch to me. Everything is wider and not so compact like CSGO. 1920 with hud size max feels great. Honestly same, been playing CS:GO on 1440x1080 stretched for like, forever, yet CS2 feels sluggish and unresponsive. On the other hand, native resolution feels way smoother and more responsive.

I started using low res 4:3 like 10 years ago and stayed since just because I was used to it. When Valorant came out I gave it a shot and played for a few weeks, kept it on 1920x1080 and had no problem with that. With CS2 being a new game I will probably just use my native screen resolution. Hey! I use a 6600xt to play cs2 with custom resolutions and use my display to stretch my resolution. However when using certain custom resolutions in 4:3(1280x960,1024x768) it forces it into full screen stretched and doesn't give the options of aspect ratio on my xl2566k.
