It has vocal effects as well as guitar effects like male/female desser and diffrent sounding preamps Even a "lofi" setting. Also they have a dedicated xlr mic input so its safe to assume they want you to use it for both. The ME-50 on the otherhand does not do as well with keyboard/synth or vocals. I assume this is due to frequency.

Been playing for a few months so still a beginner but I've been recommended the BOSS ME-50 multi effects pedal as my first guitar pedal. They seem to be around £100 ($125). I appreciate that the pedals been around almost 20 years but it seems to still be a useful bit of kit with nothing too complicated for a beginner.

Using my ME-50 inline in my pedal rig for volume/noise gate/compression only. I have EH and TC pedals on either side for the rest of the tone. Soul Food > Dark Matter > ME-50 > Sub n Up > Alter Ego v2 > Hall of Fame v2. I had one for a couple of years. Many others here have described it well.
