So beyond trying to save someone from a right click carry that doesn't want to Nightmare, Bane being able to protect his teammate from 1 second of certain spells may very well be able to prevent the majority of the damage and keep that person alive. If this was a lane issue, Bane would max both Enfeeble and Brain Sap, and just get a point in Nightmare for the utility. The thing is, as a Bane player, you absolutely need that maxed Nightmare for the mid game, it's not optional. So you have to either get and max Enfeeble or Brain Sap.
