F-word is on fire this weekend. Elena is broken mainly because of the Focus mechanic. Focus-absorbing attacks fills her Ultra meter without even costing her life. Her good backdash and walkspeed means that she also can get out of situations fairly easily when she's in danger of losing that grey life.

Elena was by far the character most in need of balance adjustments. Not broken. Evil Ryu was simply a top tier character, not obnoxiously powerful in the grand scheme of things. His only stand-out attribute was the fact that he had massive damage off of c.mk in neutral. Plenty of other characters could do things that were far more unfair.

Problem is Elena herself. Her moves are too intrusive, her gameplay style is annoying, and watching her in a fight is as fun as watching paint dry. It'd be easy to fix her with an update, but it's too late to update USF4 now. We'll have to deal with it. Elena is one of the only annoyances left in USF4 balance-wise.

Fuuny enough there are paraleels between a few of the top tiers in USF4 and SFV S3 USF4 Elena- S3 Menat. The character that could annoy and cause time outs and had deceptive hitboxes/hurtboxes on many buttons. Altough in Elena's case it was her whack hurtbox that made some combos drop on her completely USF4 Yun- S3 Rashid .
