Most planes maybe can fly with fingertips, but I promise you that most big twin engine aircraft require much more than that. Flying how you recommend in the B-17/24/25 or DC-3 you'll literally not move. There is no reason to be guarding the thrust levers during a pass like this. In fact, it would be much more dangerous.
