If you like to live in big cities, then apart of Lisbon and Porto, there's no such thing in Portugal. Faro, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga would be my choices. In any case, as a foreigner I'd be around Lisbon or Porto. São Pedro da Cova. Almada, right in the city center (search for Cacilhas, Almada and Pragal).
