The cause is it's a Taylor. Happens to a lot of them. I think the way the bracing is done it tends to pull the solid spruce top apart. Happened to one I have that was kept in an environment with proper humidity the whole time. This can also happen when they dry out. But I swear it happens more on Taylor guitars. Maybe it's the thickness.

I use parchment paper to avoid glue adhesion. Add diamonds on the lower top crack. Perhaps a backing brace on the upper crack. If the guitar works for you, it's definitely worth doing the repairs.
