I have come to find that the ORDER of unit selection when forming groups translates to line placement on the battle field too. So say when forming a quick front line group: if we select our desired left flank unit(s), then middle unit(s), and then right flank unit(s) when forming the group, when that group is placed on the battlefield they will line up in that order.

Those players will use hotkeys for harassing groups, drops, counterattacks mostly.. and of course spellcasters. You should watch Vibe's YouTube video on control groups. He covers it extensively and it helped me a lot. I use 2 army hotkeys, a spellcaster hotkey, a creep-queens hotkey and sometimes a drop defence hotkey.

Hot Keys. Every unit command has a hot key, or keyboard shortcut, associated with it. Holding the cursor over any unit command button will display the name of the command. Note that one of the letters appears in Yellow -- this is the hot key for that command. Using hot keys for special abilities, attacking, and construction can save a lot of time.

Pretty much every strategy game has had keyboard movement short cuts of some sort. I think there will be one of two shortcuts. 1: Either there will be directional movements with the keys "w", 'e', 'a', 's', 'z', and 'x'. 2: This seems more likely, there will be one easily accessible key (Maybe 'F') that brings up the movement option, and then

Don't forget the shift key when making actions. Here's a few examples: Tanks, Spores, Spine Crawlers: Hold shift, press unburrow/unsiege, click where you want them to move, press siege/burrow. This is REALLY useful for Terrans, it makes leap frogging tanks easy and frees you up to do other things.

This game has an all army hotkey which is useful at times, but really prevents you from defending, scouting, spotting, and harassing. I've play against people who are smarter than me when it comes to what units they decide to build, but their army movement and vision is terrible because of the all army key. If you defend with you all army key.
