The term Moth seems to have started very early in the game's history, a term maybe even used by the devs in a live twitch streams according to one source I met in game. It refers to the default cape colour, hair and clothing style. But the term Moth is also like a stratified term in this game for newbies.

I always headcannon skykid moths to be at least like 4'9 and every time they gain winged light they get taller. 🦆 but since you aren't in the Sky cotl universe, you are so small so literally they treat you like a kid. You know like your light decreases when a dark creature hits it or like basically darkness.

I believe Sky players can truly call themselves a veteran in the game when they have unlocked almost everything, if not all, items both seasonal and non-seasonal souls provide.

It's about the journey, the friends, and the path you take from starting the game until when you put the game down. You don't need to spend money in the game, if you have the expectation that you won't be buying out everything that comes, as it comes. It's a progression game, and it takes time!
