Rode 5MOH last weekend and here are my thoughts: Take lots of water. We had a few run out in our group even though we carried lots of water. We took the second out and did not finish the whole trail loop. We rode part of other trails before 5MOH (red trail). Would not do that next time. The Crux- watch lots of videos before hitting the Crux area.

most direct way to stage for the 5 miles of hell is to use the entrance right of I-70. the 24 staging is good for riding the color trails out to the 5 miles starting point. the color trails are a great warm-up of what you'll see on 5moh and personally i would only do them and Waterfall trail, i'd skip 5moh unless you're a glutton for punishment.

5 Miles of Hell, San Rafael Swell, Utah. by swatts » 07:37 pm Nov 21 2011. Took the 220 out last Wednesday on the famous 5 Miles of Hell trail, with our guide Scott Wheeler. Needless to say, it was one Kawasaki with four KTM's, three of them two-strokes as well. I am happy to report it took us 2.5 hours to clear the trail.
