Dasher texted me the next day : r/doordash - Reddit

Granted, I've only been dashing 5 days a week for 4 years, so there's a pretty good chance I'm just enough of a "newbie" to not understand how any of this works yet. But, as an occasional customer (1-2/month), I can confirm that Doordash doesn't tell me my Dasher's last name, or real phone number.

The woes of dealing with dashers on the restaurant side. I very rarely use doordash personally because I don't want to pay the marked up prices for the food, the service fees, the delivery fee, and the tip for the dasher to get cold food. In fact I usually only use it when I'm drunk. I operate a restaurant that sees pretty heavy doordash business.

A Guide to Dashing: DoorDash For New Drivers vs. Experienced Drivers

https://gridwise.io/blog/driving-for-door-dash/a-guide-to-dashing-doordash-for-new-drivers-vs-experienced-drivers/
It's easy to calculate how much you'll get paid per mile of driving. Simply look at the delivery, and divide the amount of the order by the number of miles you'll need to travel. If the result is between $1.00 and $2.00, you'll want to skip it, but most drivers believe that $3.00 or more is ideal.

Why don't dashers EVER read delivery instructions?? : r/doordash - Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash/comments/zmwdpq/why_dont_dashers_ever_read_delivery_instructions/
Many dashers do read instructions. In your area, apparently, they're either new or uncaring, or they don't speak English. Maybe in limited cases, the instructions are too complex. It doesn't help that a bunch of dashers can't/won't read. Sounds like you're lucking into a bunch of shitty dashers. 1 star all day.

As someone who worked in the same areas as you the last two years, I can tell you the area is not the issue. Are you doing Earn by time? Because you're barely averaging $2 tip per order and that's absolute 💩 that should not be accepted. Not to add any more stress to your life, but DoorDash will never cut it in terms of making that much.

The app is also shit. I love doordash, the service they provide, and of course working for them. There's two things I will forever complain about, as they'll never be fixed. Base pay, and the app. It closes on me twice a day. That's the minimum I can expect it to act up. It's completely ridiculous.

Doordash doesn't help us with any financial costs like gas or vehicle insurance or maintenance for instance. ... it used to be, but I used to knock down $80-100 in 4 hours (active time, not time spent dashing). Now I'm reading about dashers on this sub working 4, 5, or 6 hours and making $35 for the whole dash! ... policy has messed up when I

Can you guys see instructions before you accept an order?

https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash_drivers/comments/1bwug8k/can_you_guys_see_instructions_before_you_accept/
No instructions or anything. Really we don't see instructions till we've picked up the order (that's why if you put something like "grab extra ketchup" it probably won't happen). We have like 30 seconds to accept until it's shown to the next person. But door dash doesn't tell you that unless someone accepts and then unassigns.

Is it normal for Dashers to not bother reading the order?

A place for Dashers and non Dashers to hang out, so long as things remain civil. ... And there are some times the app doesn't even tell us what's in the order. It sometimes just says "1 item". ... caring a whole lot less though so I would absolutely bring it up to the restaurant so that they double check orders before sending them out. Also, if

After an extra 5 mins of waiting they did give the order. I delivered the first order and I was late by 10 mins. As soon I started driving to my second order all the pasta was dripping from the paper pack on my seat so I had to immediately stop and clean.
