If you're truly wanting to get into it, and have the money available, go for the FLX-10. There's an old saying 'buy cheap, buy twice'. By no means is the 4 a bad controller, but you'll be wanting more features relatively quickly (outputs, bigger jogs etc.). Completely down to you, but if you're serious, go for the 10.
