A lot of people use diesel heaters. Look up Silvel 12 v diesel heater on Amazon. The heater sits outside of the 4Runner and blows hot air into using a battery powered fan. These types of heater are safe as the heater isn't in the car. I don't use one of these, I've just seen them a lot on the forums.
