The 2006-2009 Range rovers were actually the sweet spot for reliability for range rovers with the Jaguar 4.4L V8 and supercharged 4.2L V8, with the 4.2L actually being the more reliable of the two. Being a low mileage 2008, assuming it's been cared for this is literally the closest thing to an affordable range rover that exists.

The 07-09 L322 is the most reliable. You get the 6 speed with the 4.4 AJ engine. By far the most reliable engine RR and LR have used in a long time. The build quality went up dramatically from the BMW years.
