I literally despise them. It makes me seriously consider whether I even want to attend an event (outside of a family thing) that announces it's a potluck. I'm going to be pretentious here for a minute: a lot of people can't cook. You get a mishmash of items that don't even go with each other or the people who just bring ready made junk.

Slowly start using less salt, butter, oil, etc…. Eventually your taste buds will adapt. If you're used to a coffee with 3 creams and 3 sugars, cut down to 2/2 for a bit, then eventually 1/1. Trying to dive into super healthy food overnight is not sustainable and you will more than likely "relapse".
