Isometrics vs. Plyometrics to build tendon strength

Plyometric Training:

1️⃣ Increases Muscle Stiffness
2️⃣ Increases Tendon Extensibility

This allows the muscle to remain stiff so that the tendons can efficiently store and release energy.

📈 These plyometric adaptations are more specific to fast stretch shortening cycle movements.

Isometric Training:

1️⃣ More well tolerated early on
2️⃣ Longer time to ramp up forces
3️⃣ Tendon adaptations are more specific to slower movements or cyclical low load movements

Video: @MuscleandMotion

🔑 Ideally, training involves a combination of both based on the athletes needs to build an overall robust tendo

How much sets and reps should I do for significant tendon growth and should I do the isometric work before or after my workout ?

Hi I do shotput and was wondering if I could apply this to my hands. I’ve noticed by hands were too weak to throw the 16lb shot efficiently after I saw a video of Ryan Crouser talking about how someone’s tendons would explode if they tried to throw as far as him. I believe the video was on the channel wired. I think it would be cool if you could do a video for hand tendon training. It will also help people avoid tendonitis in their hands in the long term I believe and as I am a guitar player as well it’s kinda important 😂 nice information video. I will try to apply some of these principles into my training.

I have achilles tendonitis on both achilles. I feel the most pain when runing on the pushing off my toes portion. I just found out about isometric work helps with tendons.
My question is, should I perform farmer carries with walking on my tippy toes and after includ plyometrics?

Plyometrics work on muscle and tendon extensibility. Does it make the tendon more robust? There is a form of tension when performing plyometrics, I don’t think it’s the muscles being worked only.
