When I was with my ex and was in abusive relationship, I used this song as a way to cope with myself. I thought true love must be painful so I just kept on going. Now I'm dating my best friend and I suddenly stumbled upon this song again. Then I realize that she's not talking about holding onto an abusive relationship. She's talking about sometimes you can get angry, you can get annoyed, you can get upset at your partner but you don't keep that negative feeling stays bcs you know it's temporary. And visa versa. In fact, you don't even have to hide that feelings bcs you trust your partner and your partner trust you. You're not scared to be honest to them, and you can finally realize it's normal to stay true to your feelings. It's about understanding and tolerating each other. This song means so much to me. I really didn't regret breaking up with my ex.
