this song is genius. it has the over-the-top drama of a broadway song which is comedic but also sort of rings true to just how devastating and blown out of proportion things can feel when youāre in a bad place. i think a lot of us can relate to making these sort of self-loathing generalizations when anything goes wrong, and so thereās comedy but thereās also truth to it. and the last chorus kills me because itās like she finally breaks and itās not actually comedic, itās completely serious and you can feel how hard it is. oof i love this show

this is seriously how i used to feel a few years back. i was in a really bad mental health state and i just hated everything about myself and kept degrading myself. i also remember when i watched this episode back then and this song came out and i could relate completely. back then i made jokes about it like "lol its totally me" but i also felt really bad and hated myself. i think crazy ex girlfriend is such a funny and fun show, but it also depicts mental health very realistically. i am so glad to be doing much better now and i am so thankful for this show for being there for me when it was so difficult. i dont know if anyones gonna read this but if you are, and youre having mental health problems, please seek professional help, and i know it sounds like a cliche but i promise it does get better. but its important to get help.
