The first time I ever heard Hozier, I thought I heard some Skip James influence in his guitar playing...and here he is playing a Skip James cover! Ā I can't believe it! Also some of his song-writing reminds me of Skip James, the lyrics.

Okay, this video is freaking me out. I just fell in love with Hozier last weekend when I heard his album all the way through for the first time. I couldn't stop listening, I bought his cd and tickets to see him in Portland next month. Today I was just thinking how much he reminds me of Jeff Buckley, and how sad and sudden his ending was.
Hozier, sweetie, if you read this, please stay away from the fucking water, especially with your boots on. Jeff would probably still be here if he had just taken his boots off. I need to see you in a few weeks, and you're making me nervous here.

Fantastic blues guitar and voice. If I didn't l know who this was and couldn't see his face I would think this was an original black blues singer. I spent many years immersed in those people down south and just want to attest to the greatness of this singer. I'm blown away!
