Finally need to upgrade our iMac late 2012 (yes, you read that right) as it's having power on issues. We love the 27" size & don't want to go backwards, but doing a studio display is as much as an iMac then we'd still need to get either the mac mini or larger. That could get really costly. Thoughts?

I still use my M1 13" inch mbp with no issues, so what's the M4 going to do, it only means my next mac will be cheaper, as I'll only buy used. The M3 reviews were dull, and feel the M4 will be just singing about 18% speed bump etc, and as for Ai do I reaÄŗly need it?

I have the M1 Max Mac studio, 10 CPU and 32Gb ram, I really cant not see myself upgrading anytime in the next two to three years this things fantastic and should be supported for many years yet

Mac Studio & Mac Pro should be first with M4 Ultra/Extreme - go big, go early. 12-month upgrade cycles for consumer products is fine as is 18-months for professional products. Entry-level products are also fine but the upgrade costs need to be reduced significantly.

The Apple M4 chips coming out way sooner than expected. Oh, wow! Really, and what about the M1, 2 and 3 not mentioned and talked a lot about M-series chips vulnerability fix?

They'll probably just skip the Mac Mini, Mac Pro, Mac Studio and just go right into M4 for those...but who knows, it may still come.
What they should do is have the M4 Macbook Air with the M4 Pro š 15".
Snapdragon is good for competition! Gets everyone on their toes! I invested into qualcomm, I think it'll still be a good investment in stocks/robinhood app.

We donāt need a new chip the gen over gen increases are not great. How about instead Ram and Storage maybe a drop in upgrade cost.

They make u upgrade lol a 2011 mac is more then capable to use safari and watch YouTube but those old osx wont run java . Java and other apps make us upgrade,

Weird...Apple releases (leaks?) M4 based Units to ship in late 2024 and 2025. I don't think so. Why would they hurt M3 (and overall sales) so far ahead of M4s ??? I think entry-level and pro-sumer M4s will be available just after the June 2024 WWDC. Only the high-end ULTRA and EXTREME M4 SoCs will follow a later timeline.
