The experience of listening to a song is lost on anyone under 40 .
The whole taking the vinyl out of the sleeve , putting on the turntable , setting the speed , blowing the dust off the needle , placing it on the grooves of the record , listening to that crackle of the vinyl just before the song starts , all of that was an event for the listener , each and everytime they wanted to listen to a song they had to connect with physical objects first , I can't find the words to express what it felt like dropping the needle on to rebel without a pause and hitting the groove perfectly where it was the silence before the song , that's what made music special to the listener , now all of that is lost .
