I got two major allegorical themes from the book: 1. Drug addiction (I know) 2. Ecological vengeance 1. The goblins feel confident as they trek through the rainbowland. They’ve done this before in other lands and are expecting to do it again, as they’ve done over and over again. At the end it caught up to them and led to their destruction. 2. A more on the surface interpretation shows a very environmentalist message of the earth, in this case rainbowland, getting its revenge on the goblins that have caused damage to the land due to their selfishness and greed. The goblins represent mankind and the conspiracy between the land and the plants represent an eventual end mankind will bring upon itself.

This is a cool ending, actually. I feel like it's almost mocking the goblins in their failure to suck the color out of the rainbow.

I don’t like how it ended on such a sad note..the story was sick but the music at the end made me sad..so melancholy..I can’t believe a story about rainbow goblins had me so emotionally invested..lol..

I guess no band is immune to selfish, entitled fans. You should appreciate the fact that they've tried something way different. This album reminded me how talented these guys are. After +20 years, they make a prog-rock concept album about a fictional childrens story book. Not my favorite album, of course, but I was still happy to see what these guys have put their creativity into.

Only Primus (and the Italian guy who wrote the Rainbow Goblins) could create such dark, brooding songs and tales about..... flippin’ rainbows!!!!

Great way to build up to an album release. No doubt putting the CD in and listening straight through is going to be a different experience, yet enhanced by closing your eyes and picturing the visuals and remembering the story, mind blown!!
