I most definitely thank the Lord for the people I have found, or have found me.

"I thank the Lord for the people I have found." I am thankful for all of the people that have found their way to this thread/song. All of you. I don't care who you are or how you got here. Elton first stirred my soul in 1972 when I was a kitchen helper at a summer camp when I was in high school. Haven't lost the love since. This song hits my life story in so many ways it's scary. It's special so many other people are here too. Be blessed.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

I just woke up from the most beautiful dream I’ve ever had in my life of 69 years and this was the sound track. I ran to my phone to play this while remembering all the fantastical, mysterious places I saw and wonderful people I met.

No computer effects, no synthesizers, no dancers, no explosions, no lasers, etc. Just a beautiful lyric by Bernie Taupin, a mandolin, and a guy on piano and vocals. Absolutely brilliant!

The lyrics, the melody, the simpleness of just a piano and mandolin...all this adds up to a beautiful song. I love when songs create imagery in our minds. You can "see" this song while you listen. What a masterpiece!!

One of the finest songs ever written, and I think it was Elton’s best. It tugs at my heartstrings every time I hear it. Thank you for all the gifts you have given the world, Elton and Bernie πŸ₯°

My brother introduced me to Elton John when I was a little girl in the 70’s. He died when I was 12. I thank the lord for this music and the memories it brings.

Elton John covers it all. He tugs at my heart in so many ways. I'm a white, straight male but regardless of what you are, amazing music speaks to everyone.
