Billie's mother was worried about her putting this out. but they realized this can help young people who have the same thoughts. This is why Billie has such appeal to her audience, she's open and honest, not promoting..

Billie Eilish at only 22, she is the 2nd best selling female artist globally after Taylor swift since 2019, she is the youngest in history in almost everything! 3rd female artist in history with Lady Gaga (after Madonna and Adele) with most albums #1 globally. With only 3 albums she already sold 50M copies and 300M records worldwide! She has almost 25 Guinness world records. She won 9 Grammys, 2 Oscars (the Barbie soundtrack “what was I made for?” Is so emotional this song 😭, she won Grammy , Oscar and Golden globe for this song too, plus for James Bond song, the youngest in history and the 2nd woman after Celin dion with the Titanic song) she also won 2 Vanguard awards for her impact in music and fashion industry. Her biggest influences is 40-60s of soft jazz era.. Julie London, Frank Sinatra, Peggy lee (a more expressive and charismatic era of music .. “Crooners”), Mazzy star, Lorde, Aurora, Lana del Rey and many others. She likes using all music genres experimenting with her signature sound in every genre. She is amazing! She is a charismatic cool rebel empathetic strong girl, for me she is the Madonna + Kurt Cobain of this young generation, for the mentality and for her impact socially. She doesn’t care about that industry and this toxic society rules. She is herself, anti conformist, if you like her ok, otherwise she doesn’t care it’s not her problem. She writes her music with only her big brother and she directs, edits her music videos, shows Etc everything she is behind.

There's an entire backstory to this song and its lyrics. It is covered touchingly in her real-life documentary film, "The World's a Little Blurry." In the film, she's assuring her very concerned mother that writing these lyrics is her way of processing suicidal thoughts.

After watching the documentary and seeing the process of making the songs on the album and how she felt about things happening in her life at such a young age is really interesting and worth watching

Thanks for checking this out... this song and her full album literally saved my life. I cried 😭 for hours after hearing this song Just the fact that it truly is about suicide for some reason gave me hope, kinda force me to confront my feelings Sorry it was kind of a downer Not all her songs are depressing but they all make you feel something Thanks

Nice reaction - there isn't an official music video, but there is a video of Billie singing this live @ the STEVE JOBS Theater, December 19, 2019 [one day after her B.D. 12/18/2001]; it's on the Billlie Eilish channel. - she wrote this at 15 - somebody else pointed out that the BED PHOTO is cover for her first LP "When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go" and that title is from "BURY A FRIEND" lyrics - I would recommend the OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO - where she is singing about the monster under the bed or sleep paralysis . There is another song "idontwannabeyouanymore" written by 15 year old Billie on her BILLIE EILISH CHANNEL [official vertical video].

The picture you were talking about is not for this song. It's just the cover of her album. By the way this album (When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?" swept all 4 major Grammies. :-)

Just to let you know this song was written five or six years ago and Billie seems to be doing a lot better emotionally now, she has a lot of other songs that are emotional and meaningful but not as bleak and depressing as this one, so please don't be put off lol, I know listening to a song like this is probably hard after a full day of being a therapist. I would suggest checking out her songs "Happier Than Ever" and "My Future" which are lighter and show how much she has progressed in the years since her first album.

I appreciate the billie content. A very sad song and I guess the recommendations for you from people are mostly her songs with mental health struggles as you are a therapist and probably interested in it Just so you know her music is not all like this but she really nails to transport emotions :) helped through a lot of tough times

Not all Billie Eilish songs are so sad and dark. The song My Future has a positive psychological message, and songs like Bad Guy and Bellyache were just made for fun.
