Linus’s radical honesty is exactly what makes these clips and this podcast such an interesting listen, and I don’t think it hurts his brand or damages his image in any way. It’s a look behind the curtain and an explanation on the way a multimillion dollar YouTube operation is run and operates. And I, for one, love it.

Luke is a fucking brilliant friend, it would be so easy for him to end up as a yes man but he still holds his boss and friend accountable and isn’t afraid to disagree or correct him. Don’t get me wrong Linus has to be a good guy to have a friend like that but Luke is one hell of a guy. Miss seeing him as much on LTT.

The 51% was actually recommended to me by my business advisor to avoid stalemates between 50/50 partners, even in a married couple. When two partners are EXACTLY 50/50 partners, conflicts can be hard to resolve. Impossible, even. Whereas in a worst case scenario, the 51% controlling interest can at least overrule and ensure business continues. It's not about making 1% more money. Especially as a married couple, since as Linus put it, it doesn't matter at all.
It's about the best interest of the company and ensuring business continues even in light of a serious disagreement among the owning partnership.
