Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host Paul aka your friendly neighbourhood Spoiler-man and we have a hell of a lot to talk about. Over the last week we've heard lots of rumours and reports about what's coming in the future of the MCU.
There's a tonne of things to talk about including the changes for Avengers 5 and also how I think the Fantastic Four might play into it.
Now I also wanna talk about the recent updates with Deadpool & Wolverine and then later on talk about how this ties in with Doctor Doom. Either way The internets been awash with rumours that Henry Cavill will be playing a version of the character and it's something I'd love to see in the film.
Daniel RPK has reported that they're bringing in a new concept to the multiverse and this in itself will centre around Nexus beings. In every universe
In every universe there’s one specific hero, that if they die or get removed from their universe, that entire universe would vanish. Daniel then clarified that each universe has a different hero and that they don't just vanish immediately. Over time that world starts to decay and if the hero doesn't return that's when it goes. From what I've been told Deadpools gonna be recruiting a super team and I'm guessing this involves several wolverines. If the rumours are true then that could include the Henry Cavill one and maybe even usher in him taking over the reigns at some point. Hugh is 55 at the moment and though I hope I look that good at his age I think people cant expect him to be doing it for another 10 years.

If they’re giving up on Kang I hope they show the council of Kangs get wiped out by Doom. The council has been set up as a threat so you can give doom a head start on how evil/threatening he is if he takes them out and it pays off a character they won’t use anymore

If they introduce Dr Doom and make him God King Doom right away, what do you do with the character after that? It's just that we've waited for so long, I don't want them to blow their Doom load all at once. We don't need a repeat of Gorr the God Butcher

Doctor Doom really needs to be the main antagonist of the Secret Wars. If he's replaced by Kang, then no matter how much buildup Doom has to his power-hungry nature, it'll never have the payoff it deserves, and Doom will be wasted in the MCU just like he was in the FOX Universe.

I also agree with James Gunn’s assessment. It isn’t that people have superhero fatigue, it’s that they’re tired of bad stories being told and bad movies. Deadpool, Fantastic Four, X-Men? Secret Wars & AvX will fix that

0:38 The death of Nexus beings causing incursions seems odd to me tbh:
1) how does one person's death affect the entire universe?
2) how does someone get assigned to be their universe's specific Nexus being?
3) are there multiple Nexus beings throughout history, or do all/ most Nexus beings just exist in the 21st century? If so, does that mean their universe is safe from incursions until that Nexus being is born?, etc.
