The sheer amount of problems we face in our world today can seem overwhelming at times. Drawing on her experience in the non-profit sector, Bella stresses the importance of hope, and shares ways in which we might begin to approach these challenges. The first step, though often the hardest, is the most important. Bella is interested in how to communicate important ideas well, especially about how (& why) to do good. She's currently the Head of Marketing at 80,000 Hours, a nonprofit that aims to help people have a big, positive impact with their career. She's also worked in movement building, and was part of the co-founding team of the Global Challenges Project. She studied Classics & Philosophy at Oxford, with a particular focus on ethics. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
