Jack bought me a baritone ukulele, and this is the first song I wrote on it. A little love song about our early years in San Francisco. It’s on my record, Gardenview, now available in all the places! Lots of love and a Happy 2023 to you all!

LYRICS
Over the moon
When you told me you’d be
Coming home soon
When we rolled out of
Our beds with foggy heads
To find our shoes
Anywhere we go
I’m over the moon

Morning gloom
When I wake up
Light years away from you
Drawing circles feeling small
Wondering what else I could do
Was it as good as I recall
Just can’t get over the moon

Over the moon
Am I just a heart that orbits you
Cause the hardest thing of all
Is that you had the right to choose
And you’ll never have it all
But we had the moon

Not sure if that mean anything but... As soon as Pomplamoose started signing my cat (Grumpy old Diva) came join me on the couch. 😻 Close enough for some caresses but not too close. Now she's laying down, relaxed.

While I love the work you've done over the years.... This is what I've been missing... You've got an individual story to tell with your music. The hours of fun of your covers have been great, but I'm so happy to hear your music, too.

I've always kind of been critical of what I call "meow meow singing" that started becoming popular some years ago, but this example of it is beautiful, talented and meaningful, I appreciate finding out a way I can really enjoy this singing style. You changed my mind, I get what it can be and do. Studio work: the sound you ended up with on all the strings is just exquisite, just WOW. Generally a standout job, but wanted to comment on the strings.

It has the feel of a late-career Paul Simon tune: a subtle melody, pristine lyrics. I mean this as a compliment, of course.

Love the guitarist's choice of chords or subtle melodies.

Writing a good song on a ukulele (baritone or otherwise), breaks all kinds of established expectations

Listening to this with my scented candles being the only source of light in my room filled of darkness feels warm and like a home that I never had, comforting.
