This is awesome. For years I would start fresh every January resolving to finally read the entire Bible that year, but just like you said I would get behind and then give up. And then January would come around again and I would start over. As a result, I've read Genesis tons of times, and I had never read all of Revelation until today. This year, I decided to do something different. I got through around half the Bible in 2022, so in January of 2023 I decided that instead of starting over, I was going to keep going until I read through the entire Bible. As of right now I have read every book in the Bible except for Ezekiel, so I feel pretty confident that I'm going to make it. I have 3 days to read it and it should take me around 3 hours or a little less to read. This means when I finish Ezekiel I will have read though the entire Bible in 2 years. After years of being unsuccessful, just making the decision to keep going until I finished regardless of how long it took actually worked. Now, I did get a bee in my bonnet and have read about the last quarter of the Bible this month because I really wanted to finish by the 2 year mark, but I also knew if I needed to go into the beginning of 2024 I could, so I didn't feel too pressured or anything.

Aw, poor Leviticus gets no love. Am I the only one who likes that book? I found that reading it alongside Hebrews is most helpful. When you see what Jesus did and how people no longer have to go through the crushingly difficult sacrificial process in the OT, you realize the weight of our sin and what Jesus did for us. It was necessary because we are THAT messed up. It lead you to worship Jesus even more for what He did on the cross!
I have a harder time with books like Chronicles, which are lists and lists and lists of unpronounceable names. But I still read them. If there are any notes, I read that too. It's hard, but it's there for a reason. One day, when we are with Jesus, I hope we will be able to have endless studies where He explains all our questions!

Very helpful. This is exactly what happens, I know from my own experience over several years running - even if someone is intensely interested in God's word, falling behind is so discouraging. A plan freeing from guilt and shame and self-disappointment is key as the solution. Thank you! For the same reason I'd recommend the "5-day" reading plan available for free online. It can be printed out without signing up for anything (unless you want to). It works so well and there is no guilt or shame, which actually causes me to even get far ahead of schedule.

I will print and mark off the Scripture chapters as I go, using your printout. Thank you! I've never tried a reading plan to straight-out read the Bible. My goals have never been about 'mileage' but meaning, history, application, etc. I'm an admitted Bible-nerd, so I study the Bible using a number of resources and I may spend hours or days on one or two chapters, depending. But I will use your "plan" and I'll track my readings out of curiosity more than anything.
I'll also work with the Jonathan Edwards Reading Guide and see where that leads. Getting a structured perspective on Edward's philosophical theology will be interesting.
So onward I go! Thank you for all that you share and provide for others...

I printed out a bunch of these last year and stuck one in all of my main reading bibles in various translations. Lately I've been reading a chapter in 3 or 4 different bibles in different translations so I'm keeping track with your printable plan. It works great for me. I also started putting a 1 at each chapter number to keep track in each Bible. I'm thinking about slowing down and doing the 2024 in the New Testament. Thank you Brother, it's always fun planning your next Bible reading plan for the new year.

I have not read my Bible in a few weeks. Not that l don't want to, but my heart has not been in it. Growing up, l was never a big reader. I don't want to do something because it is expected or because the pastor at church tells us that we should be reading every day. It then becomes a chore to me. Having said that, l have had days where l read the Bible a few times in a day. Could not get enough of it. As was mentioned in the video, my stomach and my mind feels bad as l have not been reading. When l pray, l pray for forgiveness. My love for our Heavenly Father has not wavered at all! Lately l have been looking at options to reading the word. I do Bible journaling, which is fantastic! Unfortunately, this is a season for me where l don't get into the word. The video makes me feel some what better. I put to much pressure on myself. I also think God will judge me, come judgement day for not reading everyday

I read the “Bible in a year” in 18 months and I felt great about it. I’m a mom, life happens and at times I need to skip a full reading so I would either just read what I could or not worry and read it the next day. It was really a blessing to not have to stress about goals and I could just enjoy my reading. I also did it as the chronological reading which was fabulous!
