The aftermath was interesting, Dax Harwood just literally said that Cornette was able to say what he says negatively because he's earned it being in the business for so many years, and FTR even said that when Cornette would bash them for something; they would take it on board and look at where they went wrong and fix it compared to Omega or Jericho or Young Bucks or Moxley etc.

I'm so glad I was able to see this live and decided at the last minute to go... was sitting right behind the hard cam, just a few rows back. Probably the best match I've ever seen (although I did also really like the FTR/Bucks ROH/AAA title match on Dynamite a few months back as well). Sorry we (the crowd) didn't live up to Cornette's expectations (or Meltzer's).
There weren't a lot of kids, it was mostly an older / more hardcore crowd (i.e. lots of 90s WWF & WCW shirts, ROH, AEW, & Indie shirts), but it seemed more of the sit & clap crowd, which is actually how I usually am, but I thought there were a good amount of chants and cheers, even if it didn't live up to really hot crowds. I don't know what they showed on TV, but there were a good amount of empty seats, as it's a decent trek from Boston; and it was a much smaller arena on a college campus, in the summer w/ school not in session. Disappointed I didn't get to see Dynamite this past week, couldn't work my schedule around it. That final mid-rope piledriver, there were gasps, my reaction was "that's got to be it", but I think so many people have just been conditioned by WWE that every match has to end with the signature finishing move, that it initially caught a lot of the WWE/AEW crowd off guard.
I wish I had filmed Dax's promo after it went off air... he just randomly grabbed a mic and decided to talk some more, which was clearly not planned. And basically dumped on Vince McMahon for not believing in them and him explicitly saying they wouldn't be a top act b/c they were good wrestlers and were focused on the wrestling and not comedy / skits, and saying good riddance basically, and praising TK for letting them do their thing, and they felt they've made it. And they grabbed some random kid & brought him in the ring and everybody cheered. It was nice.

My only "complaint" was that the match didn't last longer, but that's because all those guys are so talented that I could watch them wrestle all day without getting even slightly bored. I was hoping, and completely convinced, that it would have ended in a Broadway for no other reason then it would be a perfect setup for a rubber match and was shocked when it didn't. First match in a long time that got me to suspend my disbelief and feel like a kid again that still believed it was "real".
