The Tony Williams Lifetime was a jazz fusion group led by drummer Tony Williams. The band was pivotal in the development of fusion and featured various noteworthy jazz and rock musicians throughout its history, including guitarists John McLaughlin and Allan Holdsworth, keyboardists Larry Young and Alan Pasqua, and bassists Jack Bruce and Ron Carter.

Tony Williams was the master of "limb separation", and it was just normal drumming to him, nothing special at all. Saw him at a drum clinic in Kansas City, many years ago, and was privileged to get to talk with him. Humble man, for all his talent.

It's easily to detect why McLaughlin in earlier interviews repeatedly pointed out the significance of that line-up. Great to have this music after more than 50 years. And the comparison with the studio version reveals that the interpretation does not remain the same but underwent significant changes through performances.

Always great to see old footage of these guys. McLaughlin the maestro is still going strong. Just seen him in Ann Arbor for the 50th anniversary Shakti tour. Unbelievable show.

Again, props to @beatclub for releasing this. This is absolutely historic and vital material from one of the most important groups of true musicians of the era.
However, is it possible to see some of the outtakes and/or between song footage that points to them being so arrogant as to cancel their performance?
This stuff is nothing short of revelatory, but we deserve to see the whole picture.
