I've been watching you since near the beginning of your blogging history. Your quality of video has gotten superb. These videos are quiet, respectful of the outside world, and yet so real and "approachable". It's not about trying to rack up x number of miles in a day, or seeing how far/hard you can push your body, it's about enjoying the process of being outside - quite literally noticing the small things most people just stomp past to get to the next peak.
So thank you!

Why is it that my daughter and I can watch you build a fire or stir trail food, and it draws us in like a gripping moment in a movie drama? This certainly is one of your finest offerings, dear Dixie! And how kind you are to share baby names with us!
I was apprehensive during my first pregnancy, but savored every moment with my second, in awe of the marvelous changes in my body, such as the dramatically increased efficiency in getting nutrients from my food. Enjoy those wonderful changes, Dixie.
There is an old wives' tale that if you climb over your husband and get out of bed on his side, then go around and get back in on your side, he will have your morning sickness, lol. My dad was never superstitious, but he laughingly crossed my mom off every time she tried that. 😁.
Blessings. 💗💙

As your video showed the moment of totality, my eyes welled up, just before you said, “This makes me want to cry!”. I was lucky enough to see this in 2017. I immediately planned to be in the path for 2024. It is an experience that defies explanation but I had the same sense of needing to see this every time it happens. Do it if you can!

We saw the total eclipse in Northern Vermont near the Canadian border. It was hard to describe. I urge everyone make a pilgrimage to see a total eclipse. Dixie since you walked the pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago try to get to Spain in June 2026 for a total eclipse along the pilgrimage routes.
YOur films have evolved tremendously since your AT days. Thanks

This is one of my favorite hikes. Sometimes we just walk in and find a spot to just camp out for 2-3 days and then sometimes we do the whole loop. It is so nice with access to fresh water. I have woken up to black bears in my camp and some funny stories about my son. Great memories. Glad you enjoyed it.
