Itās not just that J Cole said heās the best, itās also because he deliberately stated in multiple verses that heās ready for a battle, he wants the smoke, all these rappers are scared, no one can beat me one on one, etc. then when the moment finally comes and the world is watching he basically said i changed my mind i donāt want the smoke š¤¦š»āāļø itās a slap in the face to us J Cole fans because we believed him all this time when he was saying āanybody can get it try to diss me and it will be a funeral blablablaā and now ALLL that shit he was talking just sounds fake. Thatās why weāre frustrated. We canāt even listen to his music like we used to because all that battle talk sounds like bullshit now. Itās hard to be tough on him because heās such a nice guy but in the words of dave chappelle sometimes you have to be a fight like a lion so you can be peaceful like a sheep.

These people take being successful as being a better rapper. They are not to be taken seriously.
Just cause Jay is way more successful and has won more awards, doesn't mean that artistically, the gap between him and Nas is huge. It's all subjective on who is better but don't say the gap is huge.
Other than the good 4:44 and American gangster, Jay stopped dropping quality albums after his retirement album. At what time did he get past Nas by a huge margin?

What pisses me off the most is that he's good enough to challenge him. It's like in boxing; yeah, in the end, Floyd outpointed Manny, but at least Manny stayed in the ring until the end and showed his greatness in a losing effort. Maybe Kendrick ethers him, but J. Cole can make a Takeover. It's like he was too scared to reach for greatness.

8:10 Muhaamad Ali's nickname was 'The Greatest' ofc Cole wrote that bar thinking he was the best. Schulz 100% knows this with his background in boxing.

yes rap is a competition but with cole and kendrick they came up together and and to make a diss track you have to get personal. he even said himself he tried to downplay his discography knowing damn well it's a great catalogue. i do agree, it is a little soft but beefs can get personal, even if it just starts off as rap.
