Another really cool thing about the Kraken is how much the townsfolk of Summers played it up as a terrifying beast; a roadblock to anyone who tries and cross the ocean. That, alongside with the battle itself, made it one of the most memorable moments for me.
As for the title, maybe something along the lines of "What makes a video game boss memorable || Earthbound's Kraken case study" or something along those lines? It's a bit on the longer side, but I think it could work.
Anyways, great video as always! Keep up the good work!

Between this video essay and DaEgg123's analysis about Claus you contributed to, I've had a lot of great MOTHER content to watch recently. Thank you! The best part of this for me was your introspection towards the end; I relate strongly to the videos that we upload being likened to children we "raise" to be ready for their grand debut in the world--a project's success is absolutely influenced by a combination of passion, hard work, and luck. I've put out a number of videos I invested a ton of time into that didn't perform well on the site, but most of them wound up opening opportunities in other unexpected ways (all because that one cool person I wouldn't necessarily have interacted with otherwise saw something in my work that moved them enough to reach out).
I love that this all stemmed from a discussion about the Krakenās silly design; Iām glad to have contributed a drawing to the project! RK-dās idea of EBās Kraken being what Ness envisions a Kraken to look like is brilliant, too.
Oh, one small thing, it looks like the links for my channel and Melo's go to a 404 page (which got a laugh out of me because it shows a monkey wearing a red ball cap)!

The design and theme of the kraken always stuck out to me and is still one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of Earthbound enemies. I like when you pointed out that this kraken doesn't look like a traditional one and kind of looks like a child's drawing, seeing as how my first exposure to any sort of kraken as a child was the one from the 1981 movie Clash of the Titans, which also strays a fair bit from the usual kraken depictions. I also loved drawing monsters as a kid. This is probably a big part in why it resonated with me

youtube's dumb autoplay made me lose the comment i was typing out ššš so i'll try to remake it
basically, this is my favorite video you have ever made! partially b/c i have always loved the kraken. even if the fight is a little underwhelming, I love the visual design, the battle theme, and the scenario itself. i look forward to this part of the game everytime I play it, and I'll always remember the first time I ever fought this creature. for a title? Hmmm... maybe "The Kraken's Attackin', and It Ain't Lackin'! (In Interesting Design Decisions)" :P
i've also always been fascinated by EB64's Kraken. its design is definitely ridiculous and a bit too reminiscent of a two-headed Jar Jar Binks monster, but it seems like Itoi had some kooky ideas for the creature and I love the allusions to it in the Tazmily Times.
lastly, i just wanted to say that i loved how you talked about your creative process. i could go on and on about this, but i just found it to be an unexpectedly tender moment in this already well-made video. i really look up to you as a content creator, so that was an awesome moment. it also made me feel a little better about struggling to get videos out :P
take care, man. you're the GOAT
