If you feel it, chase it.
#TwistersMovie is only in theaters July 19.
_____

This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of natureā€™s most wondrousā€”and destructiveā€”forces.

From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters,
a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the OscarĀ® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Twisters features an exciting new cast, including Nopeā€™s Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).

From Amblin Entertainment, Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and is produced by OscarĀ® nominee Frank Marshall (Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and by Patrick Crowley (Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, writer of the Best Picture nominee The Revenant. Twisters will be distributed by Universal Pictures domestically and by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally.

The original movie was an inspiration for me to become a meteorologist. This past year I got to be on my first research campaign chasing tornados. And then this comes out. I feel like Iā€™ve come full circle.

What made Twister (1996), so iconic
1. Bill Paxton
2. Philip Seymour Hoffman
3. Helen Hunt
3. Van Halen Soundtrack
4. 1995 Dodge Ram
5. Cows
6. F-5 Tornados
7. Aunt Megā€™s Breakfast
8. ā€œThe Suck-Zone.ā€

I just donā€™t think you can capture the magic of the first.

Dude I literally burst into tears seeing that this was coming out.
I remember when my mom brought it home. It was when I fell in love with meteorology and storm chasing.

Mom I wish you were still here to see this with me.

If your favorite channel was The Weather Channel raise your hand! āœ‹šŸ½

God, I can't believe it. They literally parked the movie vehicles in the grocery store lot behind my house during the filming of the original when I was a kid. I touched Barn Burner. The crew stayed at the hotel right next to the same grocery store. We drove out to the sets when they weren't actively filming. I've crossed the "cow" bridge. I have such a strong emotional connection to the original. I just can't believe it. I'm so stoked... and also sad that my mother isn't here to witness this. She would've loved it.

With the chaos going on in the world today, all the people we've lost and just everything in general. I'm so glad to say that this movie was like getting a little bit of the old world back. It felt like seeing an old friend. Thank you everyone who worked on it and kept it true and payed respects to the original.

I watched the original in the theater 5 times. That ERA of 90's Summer Blockbuster's was awesome. Twister, The Rock, Con-Air, Independence Day, The Matrix and many more. They certainly don't make them like they used to. Bring back Original fun popcorn movies Hollywood.

I just watched Twister 3 days ago & had no idea this movie was even coming out. These tornadoes don't even look computer generated. I'm excited about that. Twister was the last movie to have real looking tornadoes in it.

I will admit, this is one of those VHSs I watched over and over again as a kid. Never thought itā€™d get a sequel

Ironically, The 1996 movie was never developed to be the masterpiece gem it is today. The producers thought that it would be just a fun B list movie for the 1996 summer. They weren't looking to set or break any records with it yet it became the 2nd highest grossing film of the that year.

Iā€™m 36 soon to be 37, born in the late 80s and raised up through the nineties and early 2000s. Twister is one of my favorite movies of all time. Iā€™m so darn nostalgic these days that when I saw this coming out I actually got teary eyed. I absolutely cant wait to go watch this. Iā€™m a Floridian and a central Florida area local so Iā€™ve been blessed to enjoy the attraction at Universal Studios Orlando many times. Storm chasing tornados would be my literal dream job but like I said, Iā€™m here in Florida and I donā€™t foresee me changing careers now and heading out to the Midwest. I can only dream and watch these Twister movies.
