Hate to play devil's advocate here, but the only reason we're flooded with these subscription-based systems is because they work. People are "spending money they don't have on things they don't need" (paraphrased from George Carlin), and it's really sad to see the lack of discipline and self-control of adults. Hearing you spend that much on subcriptions alone at 21:05 is really telling; I currently spend less than that on EVERYTHING per month. With no social media, no useless apps, and no debt, I'm proof that you can be a very happy 25-year-old who can live off of less than $1,000 USD per month.

This has been going on for over a decade now. I used to work in fast food and now I'm a taxi driver soon to be driving Instructor. They're not just exploiting the consumer but the supplier as well. Companies like justeat, deliveroo and ubereats are killing your favourite local takeaway. That's why I only order directly through the restaurant or takeaway. I only use local taxi companies and always tip because honestly taxi drivers really earn a pittance which is why I'm training to become a driving instructor.

The answer is piracy. If you can't afford the subscriptions, just pirate the content. It's morally wrong, but being morally wrong to corporations is a morally right thing to do, since corporations don't even have morals to begin with. The only people who deserve your subscription money are small creators of services or products that you enjoy. If corporations aren't going to make it convenient for you to pay, you shouldn't pay them. If paying is not owning, then pirating is not stealing.
