This morning, I woke up with a headache and feeling a little out of sorts. Then ... your song. Off I fell (again) into a rabbit hole of listening to your songs and I revisited your video on "How to Write a Song" (which I always (mis)remember titled as "How to be a genius"!) I sent that video to a friend and we had a long chat about creative energies and the ebbs and flows of creative work. It was much needed. And I rewatched some of your vlogs and, at the end of the final one: "May your ambitions be lofty and your heart resilient". I resigned from my job recently. Not so much of a decision as an impulse (or exhausted surrender) and as I try to balance out the need to pay the bills without selling my soul, I found this really spoke to me. I will remind myself every day "May your ambitions be lofty and your heart resilient". So, thank you ... as always ... for your songs and for your beautiful vlogs. P.S. "But if I drove a train and happened to pass you by, boy I would toot all the tones just for you. And I would almost certainly lose my job as the train driver" might be my favourite lyric of all time. Or maybe it's "I would scroll through a thousand cats, just to see you there". Thank you again.
