I went to school in portishead and been told I was in the same year as Beth Gibbons who originally sang this but don't remember her. Apparently I lived a few doors up from the drummer in mendip road but not sure if that's true

When Glory Box appeared in 1994, I was 14 and there is not a year without me listening to that song and all the albums ever since. Managed to see them on concert in Paris ! I've never expected to have this song mean to me as much as it does.
I love listening to covers of this song because of it's raw emotional energy. It really makes for a great thing to cover because every artist can add their own emotional weight to it.
