You know, id never considered it. But when you put it all together in one video, the idea of the Hylden being so technologically advanced.
And so many aspects of their "magic" being pure arcane tech.
Makes sense to me that the "blood curse" was in actuality a sort of engineered virus.

The Hylden are one of the elements that have fascinated me the most in this saga. And we have to remember that the Hylden Lord is the only antagonist that has fought against the two main characters.
