This is such a great topic that I feel like should be talked about more!! It is such a hard thing we have to balance as makers. Personally, I like to stick to being project monogamous as much as possible. I get so inspired by a lot of things, but finishing projects is what really drives me forward and keeps me motivated.

Thank you Tayler!! I think that was a very needed reminder that we don't have to make all the things an to be mindful with our craft in order to enjoy it more. I'm seeing so many ideas, new releases, projects to make for the colder season lately that it's easy to be overwhelmed by it and my mind was a hot mess with all that inspiration haha. It's always good to be reminded that we can only make a certain amount of knitting and that it can be different for everyone, and that's totally okay🧡

Yes yes yes!!! I get quite sad when I see “How to crochet faster” or “How to knit quicker”. Good Grief!! I know the younger generation want things right now but the joy of knitting or crocheting should be just that..enjoying the craft. Enjoying creating an piece that you see completed. Thanks for letting me vent. I’m 77 and enjoy my crafts as I enjoy each day. 😊

Taylor, you are so wise and I love watching your videos. I knit for myself and get inspired by Youtube videos but never feel that it is a race or that I have to knit with the trends. The last thing I want is to get stressed about the very thing that destresses me. I don't know how podcasters keep up with their knitting projects so that they have something to show in their videos. Some have even gotten other knitters to do projects for them and then show them. Not judging but I never want my knitting to be a cause of stress or anxiety. I do wish I could knit all the things that I love but know that I will eventually and that is okay. Thanks so much for your common sense wisdom!

I've been mia from watching these podcasts for a while and I just picked this one and wow! This was amazing! I try to not "bite off more than I can chew" and I especially try to get an early start if I have a deadline and I do, actually, accidentally or not seem to "pair" my projects with things. But to have this spelled out so clearly and to have these actions and mindsets reinforced was just what I needed! Thank you.

Great advice at a time I really needed to hear it. I was feeling discouraged because I feel like everyone I’m watching on podcasts are completing so many projects so fast and I keep saving patterns they recommend intending to do them but then knowing I can’t knit all those this fall or even in a year. I seemed to be enjoying my knitting way more when I wasn’t watching what everyone else was doing and how quickly they were doing them. Thanks for helping me think about it differently. ❤

Had to laugh when you discussed how many projects to keep in the Ravelry queue. I’ve solved this by putting my queued projects in project bags. If I’m out of bags, I cannot queue the project. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m also anal-retentively knitting through my stash from the cheapest up, which I hope means I’ll be less likely to totally screw things up as the cost per yard increases. 🤞

Thank you for so accurately describing what I feel at this time of year, as I'm watching podcasts/looking at IG. I am learning to be more intentional and only knitting things that I enjoy. Also I have been dedicating times to specific knits, i.e. blanket Sunday - I've been knitting a blanket only on Sundays and my brain feels organized by dedicating days/times for my knits. Thanks again! :)
