The earthquake killed a total of 53,000 people after it hit southeastern Turkey on 6 February 2023.
One year on, one third of survivors are still displaced or homeless according to figures from Save The Children.
Pressure remains on the Turkish government to help rebuild some areas after the quake destroyed 85% of infrastructure in the region, with some streets still covered in rubble from collapsed buildings.

Erdogan promised to rebuild the affected areas within 1 year but until now they are not finished removing the collapsed buildings,and the people in many areas have no electricity and water most of the time. Erdogan should focus to Turkiye and to his people.
