For me, stylish is the intentionality. It's wearing whatever you think looks good, regardless of what is considered appropriate/trendy and sticking to it. Because the default is boring. Like, for example, why is sparkly clothing considered party/evening wear? It's going to shine even prettier in the sun!

So many channels I watch have done this theme but I think you did the best job of explaining your choices and giving visual examples. Bonus points for the examples being people of all colors, shapes, sizes, genders and abilities. I think so often people think stylish = skinny and classically pretty when everyone is beautiful in their own way and capable of being stylish.

I'm so glad that showing socks is a cool thing now. I remember that in the (late?) 2010s everybody was wearing very tiny "hidden" socks, so their ankles would be naked. And they would wear socks like that during winter, so I'd ask myself "aren't they cold?". I would usually wear socks that were the same colour of my shoes or pants, so they weren't noticeable, but people would still look at my socks weirdly. Now I love showing my socks and hopefully I won't stop wearing them like that. But the trend will probably go back around and people will be wearing naked ankles in the future again.

I’ve been mostly thrifting for over a decade but have been feeling uninspired lately. I’m 32 and have been overwhelmed by the fashion cycles and clothes that don’t work for me. I honestly love your videos! Your explanations and style philosophy resonates with me more than any other fashion/thrift lover on youtube. I love timeless stuff and lean a little more 90s but not in the over stylized modern take. You seriously have helped elevate my choices and hone in on my creativity. It’s fun again :) So, thank you!

kind of playing off of the hair styling, adornment, and the alt fashion aspects: dyed hair and especially tattoos!! I’m probably biased because I have a couple tattoos and want at least two more, but I think permanently adorning your body with art is the coolest thing in the world. I love playing with transparency and layering in my outfits mostly because I want to show off my tattoos!

I love seeing people incorporate some styling element of their cultural dress in more everyday looks (I've been doing this more lately and it's so much fun!) - especially because often these can be pieces of jewellery or other accessories that have been gifted from family members or passed down to you, so it feels very personal. In general, I also really enjoy seeing indicators of someone's interests in their fit - like a keychain with a handmade plush, or a pin badge from a zine fair. When I'm out and about, what amazes me the most is seeing someone walk by who has really committed to whichever style they enjoy; seeing someone clearly putting in that effort and having that confidence always inspires me to wear whatever I want to too.

I definitely enjoy these videos but the concept is pretty silly to me because it's like, if you use this element well in a well-put-together, stylish outfit, you'll look stylish. Like, layering doesn't make you instantly stylish, layering WELL does. I've seen the same thing in all the versions of this concept I've seen. It's not like a shortcut that can make anyone look stylish, it's more like symptoms/signs that a person has personal style and knows how to put together a cool outfit.

The fact that you included example pics of such a diverse group of people made me so happy. It really shows that beauty and style aren't connected to one's body, but to the way they celebrate and "accessorise" it ✨
