On that day in 1985 I woke up at 6AM and recorded the entire 18 hrs of Live Aid on VHS. Took up 3 tapes. Still have them.

I remember sharing a taxi with a young man many many years ago on Crete we chatted a lot and when he got out off the taxi he said to me don’t you forget about me. I never saw him again but I’ve never forgotten him. Hope he had a blessed life.

Back when it didn't matter that you looked like a high school teacher, as long as you had talent.

I can guarantee you, no one in the future will call the 20's a golden age of anything. This was it and forever.

Jim Kerr is such an awesome, energetic, charismatic frontman, always moving all over the stage and usually ending up right in front of the audience. You can tell he loves what he does. Simple Minds is such an underrated band!

No cellphones. No fear of a terrorist threat or of someone shooting into the crowd. Such an innocent time.

One of the best bands ever. Didn't get enough credit here in U.S. Love Jim Kerrs vocals.

I live in Philadelphia. I was 13 years old. I remember I was out riding my bike and it had to be 130 degrees outside. I came home into our air conditioned living room and sat on the floor for 13 hours and watched this. My father taped (we still have the tapes) on VHS. Such a memorable day.

The 80’s were a golden age. This song has such a groove and catchy progression. Simple Minds pulled this off great live in that forum. I love when frontmen get involved and close with the fans!
