Honestly, you're lucky if you get hot dogs in American prison. Definitely one of our higher turn out meals, because usually it's "mechanically separated processed chicken" in EVERYTHING, and when we managed to get hot dogs in, it was like a treat for the whole yard.

I literally starved at school when I learned that, not that I ever would eat the food most times anyways. Bosco sticks were the only lunch worth it imo. Also as Americans we have to PAY for those foods prisoners also get for free in schools. It is 100,000% better to bring home packed lunch if you want anything yummy and donโt wanna pay extra for snacks. Itโs a scary reminder of the idea of the school to prison pipeline and makes me sorry for future generations who need nutrients to grow strong and not follow that path, who arenโt getting their needs met. ๐ข
