There was a UK TV miniseries of 'The Midwich Cuckoos' a year or two ago, which I haven't seen. They missed a step by foregoing the strange identical look of the children in favor of a multiracial group inheriting the ethnicities of the host mothers. The creep factor is supposed to be instant.

I'm 63 now and I vividly remember watching The Bad Seed when I was around 6 or 7. I recall that at the end, the cast appeared on screen to take a bow, as if they were in a theatre production. My big sister said, at the time, that it was to reassure us that nothing bad had really happened concerning the girl.

Probably best for Martin Stevens (Stephens?) that he became an architect after playing evil children. Love these recommendations I haven’t seen! My favourites are The Omen and Omen II, Children of the Corn and We Need To Talk About Kevin. Ezra Miller starred in the latter and was probably method acting, given his future as an NB predator.

"The Brood" of 1979 comes to mind with its gloriously deformed, murderous children- thingies. Also, a personal favourite, "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane". Jodie Foster is rather creepy in that .

IIRC the reason Pet Sematary is mis-spelled is because the sign on the pet cemetery is written by children. So it's not an Americanism as much as a linguistic crime committed by a child. This was fun to watch, thanks for putting it out.

For any readers out there, I loved Ray Bradbury as a child and still do. I don’t know if he had children but he had some of the best short stories about evil children, like The Veldt, Zero Hour, The Playground and All Summer in a Day.
