I lost my father in 2020 from pneumonia. he was the parent most in my life. I love music because of him. This song describes my feelings toward the situation so perfectly, whenever I hear this song I can't help but start bawling. This version just breaks my heart. I grew up in a wonderful family, 2 older brothers who were my Best Friends and a mom and dad who adored us and each other. I lost both brothers to AIDS in the 90's, my mom died in my arms from an aneurysm 8 years ago and I lost my dear daddy 10 months ago. I'm the last one left and I'm so...achingly sad. I miss them all so much and it IS so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. When we were growing up we had such love and laughter and I never in a million years thought I'd be alone, without them. Of course I knew that someday we'd all leave this earth but not so soon, and not the boys first. How my parents held up having to bury both sons a year apart is beyond me and watching my dad lose the love of his life so suddenly....I don't know where I'm going with this post or why I'm even commenting....Just love the people in your life NOW and tell them, often. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
